Review: Tangle

Tangle Tangle by Adriana Locke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Someone catch me, I'm too busy swoooooning.

Trevor Kelly just stole my heart and totally ran away with it. And honestly, I don't want it back. He can keep it. Forever.

Hailey was already a favorite for me, but bring Trevor into the mix and I applaud that girl for sticking to her guns.
These two have sparks. Lots of sparks. ALL the sparks.
They fly off the pages--or in my case, out of my headphones--and you can feel them. Touch them. Taste them.
These words are palpable.

Hailey Rainer and Trevor Kelly may just be my new TOP Locke couple.

And the narration? Yes, please. Give me the audio every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'm in love.

Review: Jock Row

Jock Row Jock Row by Sara Ney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you ever sit back and wish for a book where you can watch a couple fall in love, but with zero angst?
Do you ever just want to sit back and watch attraction grow and develop into a relationship?
Do you want a book that will make you SO FREAKING HAPPY YOU CAN HARDLY CONTAIN THE EMOTION?

Yeah, this is the book for you.

Did someone say PERFECTION?

I feel like that's a word that no one threw at me when I picked this up.
And I'm not sure how they left that word out, but I NEVER HEARD IT. And I feel like I should have.
Maybe next time I'll actually read the reviews.

Sterling "Rowdy" Wade IS FUCKING EVERYTHING.

And Scarlett is just the cutest thing. Sweet, smart, sassy. Doesn't take shit.

This front porch romance is everything I want in a happy, touchy, feely, sweet, fun book.

I AM HERE FOR IT.

No angst.

I just, I don't even have the words to express how much I enjoyed not having that proverbial shoe drop. I enjoyed not being put into emotional turmoil because of some silly misunderstanding or disagreement or some giant life crisis. I enjoyed watching these two find each other, develop a friendship, then the feelings. ALL THE FEELINGS. Scarlett and Sterling are such a sweet couple. Fun.

I AM HERE FOR YOU JOCK ROW! HERE. RIGHT HERE.

Review: Jock Rule

Jock Rule Jock Rule by Sara Ney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.25 Stars

I have fallen so hard for Sara Ney's books and Jock Rule just proves why I can't stop reading her words.

Kip. Man. Let's just get started on Kip.

HE'S SO BROODY AND I LOVE IT ALL.

And he's bearded. And he has a man-bun. And he's ripped from all that rugby.

Sweet, naive Teddy isn't interested in Kip. Which is fine. He's not interested in her either.

But watching these two, the chemistry as it unfolds, the cuteness that's almost over the top, but not quite.

PERFECTION.

I want Sara Ney to have my babies. All of them. Seriously. If I can get just one kid that has her level of creativity, I'd call it a win.

Review: Highball Rush

Highball Rush Highball Rush by Claire Kingsley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just in case you need to know a little something about Gibson Bodine...

description

And if you want to know a little something about the leading lady...
description

I've never been more satisfied with a series ending book than I am right now. I just can't even begin to tell you how many feels I experienced while reading this book.

Gibson Bodine is the grumpy Bodine. But I swear he's a lovable grumpy. You just want to pull him into a hug and never let go. But you won't do that because it's Gibs and he's not a fan of hugs. Or people. Or anything, really.

So much happens in this book. So much and I refuse to say anything because it's just not right. If I spoil it, someone (probably Bootleg) would come after me with their own brand of Bootleg Justice and I just can't have that.

Now, I will say, this is book six and this book will answer ALL your questions. So, if you haven't read 1-5 and didn't know there were questions that needed answering, well, I think you should start with the first book. You'll knock them out in no time because they are so freaking addicting.

If you don't want to live in Bootleg Springs by the time your finished with this series, I don't think we can be friends.

But seriously, AMAZING BOOK.

"I won't hurt you, honey. I just wanna get a little dirty with you."

Review: On the Corner of Love and Hate

On the Corner of Love and Hate On the Corner of Love and Hate by Nina Bocci
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nina Bocci gave me a book I couldn't put down. I was drawn into Emma and Cooper's story. I loved the fact they had been childhood best friends who grew up in a tiny town. Friends turned enemies turned co-workers. They had a mutual respect of each other in business, but some of Cooper's personal choices left him as a giant thorn in Emma's side.

These two, the humor, the banter, the bickering...yep. That'll hook me every single time.
Add in the long lost feelings and the obvious crush and you can't get rid of me.

I am a sucker for an enemies to lovers romance.
I am a sucker for a friends to lovers romance.

Somehow, Nina delivered on both of these.

Review: The Birthday List

The Birthday List The Birthday List by Devney Perry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of those books you pick up and you don't want to put down.
This is the type of story that sucks you and and spits you out on the other side as a different person.
This is a book that will have you living minute by minute.
This is the book that will have you wanting to create your own Birthday List.

Poppy Maysen had it all. The perfect life, the perfect husband, the perfect everything. She was happy, she was in love.
And it all vanished in an instant.

Cole Goodman had the unfortunate experience of delivering really bad news to a woman who had it all. It was a night he would never forget and a woman he would always remember.
And then she came stumbling back into his life.

Five years is a long time to live without purpose or meaning or love.
Five years is a long time to feel your world in two parts; the before and the after.
Five years is a long time.

Seeing Cole again, Poppy had no idea how he would change her world for a second time.

A love story for the books. Beautifully written, charming, and a book you'll fall head over heels for. Cole Goodman will have you handing over your heart.
Poppy will have you looking for those moments of life.
The two together will have you falling in love.

Review: Plan B

Plan B Plan B by Jana Aston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kyle Kingston.

Did he just hit my top Jana man list?

Because holy shit. That man. Kyle. Wow. Just....yeah.

See, I have all the words here.

I've been patiently waiting for Daisy's book since the end of Sure Thing. I knew Daisy was someone I wanted to meet and I knew her story would be one I couldn't put down.

But Jana made us wait.
And wait.
And wait.

It was totally worth it!

If I knew I'd be getting Kyle Kingston, then I would happily wait another year. Or two. He's just so freaking amazing and perfect. AND OMG.

You need to meet him. You will love him so hard.

Review: The Lying Hours

The Lying Hours The Lying Hours by Sara Ney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

RTC!

Vacation is a time for reading and relaxing and traveling. Which is what I've been doing.
I listened to this during my ridiculously long drive and it made the time go by so quickly. I couldn't stop listening. I guess that's not surprising considering I've devoured every single book in this series, but whatever.

This book is another hit. Abe and Skylar are one of those couples you want to see succeed. You need them to realize their mistakes and you need them to get together as soon as possible because they are that great and that deserving of one another.

If you've been following along, you know this is a theme. These books have you cheering from the beginning.
And OMG. Zeke Daniels is in this one. He's in here and he's so freaking perfect and hilarious and he's just all the things.
And his interactions with Abe are some of the best in the book.

Go forth and read. Go forth and find a Douchebag to love.

Review: The Learning Hours

The Learning Hours The Learning Hours by Sara Ney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'M IN LOVE.

Quick! Someone speak to me in French.

RTC.

OMG! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! This book was so freaking fantastic that I couldn't stop listening. Those roommates of Rhett's were awful and I just couldn't believe how mean they could be.

But Rhett. Man. That. Man.
He's sweet and kind and generous and so freaking lovable that you just want the best for him. In life, in love, in all the things.

Because he's fantastic.

And Laurel is a great fit for Rhett. What started as a weird joke became so much more. And it was everything this series needed.

Sweet southern man.
Fiesty woman.

Chemistry. Electricity. Uncertainty.

If Rhett Rabideaux doesn't quickly become your favorite (non)Douchebag, I'm not sure what's wrong with you.
He's the best.

That french though. swoon

Review: Behind His Eyes

Behind His Eyes Behind His Eyes by Claire Kingsley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After devouring the Bootleg Springs series and hearing Jonah Bodine Jr was from Jetty Beach, I knew I had to go back and give them a read.
Or listen.
And lucky for me, they are in the romance package so I just downloaded it and dove right in.

This is a sweet story of two people who are thrown back into their hometown and are trying to find their way on this new path life has created for them.

Ryan and Nicole are an unlikely pair, but they just click. They are the couple you cheer for because enough stupid has been thrown at them and they deserve a good, happy life.

If you haven't read a Claire Kingsley book, this is a good one to start with (although her Book Boyfriend series and that Bootleg Springs series are where I got my start).

Go forth and venture to Jetty Beach. I think you'll have a good time.

Review: Making Up

Making Up Making Up by Helena Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

LOVED this newest addition to the Shacking Up world. RTC!

Sometimes you just know you have a good thing in your hands from the moment you see the cover. And really, look at that cover. Those abs, those arms, those pecs....

Uh, where was I?

Oh, right. A good thing.

Making Up is that good thing. Griffin Mills is, well, he's a Mills brother. And Cosy is just the perfect pairing for this big-wig hotel guy. She's feisty and young and the best counter for Griffin's seriousness.

Helena has another hit with these Mills brothers. Just when you think you've found your one true Mills love, you are hit with a new brother.

Are there more hiding somewhere? I could read about these guys allllll day.

Review: Lyric

Lyric Lyric by Molly McAdams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I once asked Molly McAdams which books of hers I should read and this is the book she recommended.

So, nice choice.

I wasn't sure what I expected when I hit play on this audio. I was in it for the long haul, I had a 2300 mile trip ahead of me and I was determined to knock out some of my ridiculous TBR.

And Lyric was already sitting there on my audiobook shelf, downloaded and ready to go, just waiting for me to hit play.

So I did.

Now is a good time to tell you I didn't read the blurb. Just took Molly at her word and dove right in. There's nothing like blind trust to really get you in the mood for a book (although why I trust her is beyond me, the last time I read one of her books she left me gutted on the floor).

So, Lyric.

Wow. I like the detail, the characters, the love, the devotion, the...Wait, what??! The mafia?! Is this a mafia book?

Oh, yes, yes it is. And the twists and turns and lies and deceit that happen in this book left my jaw on the floor.

She got me. Why I am so surprised is beyond me. I should know to not trust Molly with my reading choices. I should have known better.
But here we are.

I'm moving on to book two because this book was fantastic.

Like I said, if you want the swooniest romance mixed with a bit of mafia blood--okay, a lot of mafia blood--then this is the book for you.

Just know that Maxon James is going to win your heart. You're gonna wish you were every lyric he had ever written too.

And because I'm me, I want the spin-off story of Gabe. This ten years of waiting through his eyes. Because I bet that shit is twisted.

Review: Duke of Manhattan

Duke of Manhattan Duke of Manhattan by Louise Bay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I just love, love, LOVE Shane East. LOVE HIM. Want to get wrapped up in that voice and never come out.

Wait. That's a little weird, right?

So, uhhhh....
Duke of Manhattan is all you want in a sexy, sophisticated, playboy falls in love kind of book. He's demanding, he's determined, and he's just so damn sweet. And he finds the perfect match. Just absolutely perfect.

As my first Louise Bay book, I am kicking myself for not reading her sooner. I can't wait to dive into her other works.
And if Shane East is narrating them, well, I'm all in.
