Review: A Court of Mist and Fury

A Court of Mist and Fury A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you read my review for ACOTAR, then you know I really loved Tamlin. Which makes my headline here a bit more surprising, I'm sure.

Because OMG. Rhysand is everything and everywhere and EXACTLY who I didn't know I'd want. And you'll want him too. You'll fight for him because he fights. You'll find beauty within because he is beautiful. And you'll find that you wish to leave among the Court of Night, despite all you know and have learned from Spring.

This is a wonderful book. A book that is powerful and packs a punch. You'll see ACOTAR in a new light when you read ACOMAF. You'll wonder how you ever managed to love the Spring Court.

You'll want to have the next book in your hand before you're fully finished with this one.

It's.
That.
Good.

Review: The Ruthless Gentleman

The Ruthless Gentleman The Ruthless Gentleman by Louise Bay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shane East is my guy. Seriously. I will listen to this man read the phone book (do they even make those anymore?) or the outside of a cereal box. Anything. Really.

Hayden Wolf is a hotshot businessman with loads of money.
Avery Walker is a stewardess on a yacht.

When these two meet, fate collides. Sparks fly. Chemistry happens. Things combust.

Okay, so there's chemistry, there's banter, there's a whole lot of back and forth and pushing and pulling and then there's the conflict.
Which makes things interesting.

But all in all, I'd listen again and again. One, the story is a good one. Sweet, sexy, a bit forbidden. Two, Shane East.

Review: Fling

Fling Fling by Jana Aston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"No, I said the opposite of 'go for it.' I think I used words like, 'stay away from her' and 'employee.'"

Sawyer and his mouth. Gah, I love him.
But after meeting Gabe and seeing how he has a thing for Sawyer's lovely assistant, Sandra, I just knew I'd love him too.

Let's be real, Jana Aston gives us sexy as fuck men and we all want to crawl into bed with them.
Each. And. Every. Single. One.

And if Gabe knocked on my door, invited himself in, and then told me to take off my clothes....
I would do it in a heartbeat.

Which is how we know Sandra has a good head on her shoulders.
She totally gets naked.

Another hit from Jana. This audio is exactly what you need for a short trip or to distract you while you're doing household chores.

Indulge. Fall for the hot CFO. Have a Fling.

Review: A Place Without You

A Place Without You A Place Without You by Jewel E. Ann
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“No matter where I am on this earth, I’m loving you … forever.”

Don't we all wish for a love like that? The kind that never ends. The kind that is all consuming. The kind where the love is stronger than the hate?.

A Place Without You grabbed me from the very beginning. I'm not sure which line it could have been. I'm not sure if it was a specific word or phrase or just the immediate connection I felt with these characters, but the book grabbed me.
And it did not let me go until it was finished with me.

It was all consuming, A Place Without You.
It was everything I wanted.
It was everything I didn't know I would need.
It made me laugh.
And cry.
It fell into a million little pieces, but then it made me whole again.

Except my pieces fit differently when they were put back together. I was no longer one person. I was two. I was Henna and Bodhi. I was Bodhi and Henna.
And I was forever.

“Funny …” I shake my head. “Because after two years, a million new faces, and countless cities … every place was simply a place without you."

So, if you need to feel something. If you want to hurt as much as you crave. If you want to love and heal. A Place Without You can do those things.

This book will not go down as the only Jewel E Ann book that I read.
It was too powerful.
It was simply more.

Review: Handle With Care

Handle With Care Handle With Care by Helena Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, well, well...what do we have here? A Moorehead? Surely I’ve read that wrong…

But no! OMG. This is the mysterious brother who has disappeared to do his own thing. The one not interested in the family business. The one who needs a makeover and a handler to guarantee he’ll be presentable to the public.

Lincoln Moorehead is just fabulous. He’s got that beard and the hair and the don’t give a fuck attitude that women everywhere drop their panties for.
I’m no exception.

And then we get to know the man beneath the beard, under that mess of hair, and we see what a sweet, kind, genuine soul he is.

We also realize that he's cocky and arrogant, but when you have the power and influence of a Moorehead, why wouldn’t you hold yourself like you know what you’re doing?

Lincoln and Wren are just what you need to get through a crazy work week. Wren handles Lincoln better than you could ever predict. She’s strong and smart and she is not immune to Lincoln’s...charms. Yeah, charms.
Although, he’s been out of the dating game, so it’s more like she’s just immune to Lincoln and all his perfect masculine glory.

You’ll fall for Wren and Lincoln immediately. Their chemistry and banter is on point. They are such a fun couple. You’ll hardly be able to handle it.

Review: Vicious

Vicious Vicious by V.E. Schwab
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you want a cool superheroes-supervillains book, this is for you.

Two normal guys, Eli and Victor, have an idea.
They believe extraordinary people can be made.

Okay, so maybe they aren't all that normal.

But can superheroes be created? Like, in a lab? And if so, how? What's the common factor?

Those questions and more will be answered.

You'll also find yourself loving this story. The story of Eli Cardell and Victor Vale. You'll want to know what happened to drive a wedge between them. You'll want to know why they believed EOs could be made. You'll want all the details.

And it's in this book.

I think you'll find yourself asking if superheroes can be made and, if so, can you be one too?

Review: If You Dare

If You Dare If You Dare by Shantel Tessier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, this was a dark and twisted book.
Which is just how I wanted it.

Deke is my favorite Shark.

And honestly, I don't even know what to say. The players aren't who you expect. The game is darker than you can imagine.

And Deke? Well, he's gonna get his. But he's also gonna find love along the way. A love that he would kill for.

And that's when this gets really fun.

Review: Right

Right Right by Jana Aston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I fell in love with Sawyer three years ago and rereading this just reminds me of why I love him so hard.
Re-reading Right reminds me why Sawyer is my NUMBER ONE Jana man.

Sawyer is just sexy and determined and so freaking sure of himself. It's why I love him.
He knows he wants Everly and he will stop at nothing to get her.
It's hilarious because he is the male version of her.

She hates it.
But she wants him.

Bad.

Because he's Sawyer freaking Camden and everyone wants him. And if they don't? Well, more of him for me.

Review: A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Read it, they said.
You'll love it, they said.

Well, in this case 'they' were totally right.

I loved every second of this. I am such a faerie book whore and this one hits all my sweet spots. I'll admit to listening to this on the longest road trip ever, but let me tell you the audio is amazing.

I cried.
I cried, guys.

Make the feelings stop. I want to start the second book, but I have work to do. I don't know if I have the time to binge a series, but I'm fairly certain it's about to happen. I'm so glad I already own this series. Talk about counting my chickens and whatnot.

For all those Rhysand lovers. Am I gonna grow to love him? He kinda won me over there at the end, but WHY does everyone pick him over Tamlin?
And please tell me Lucien finds himself a love interest. I need him to have someone too. My heart can't handle it if he doesn't find love.

You guys are gonna hold my hand for the rest of this series, right?
