Review: Loving Irish

Loving Irish Loving Irish by Katy Regnery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's one of those feel good books that puts you through a bit of a rough patch first.

A misunderstanding when they were young, Ian and Halcyon are torn apart and never really put back together.
Ian turned to alcohol.
Halcyon turned to a loveless marriage.
Neither ever found themselves.

Until they found each other.

We've been following Ian's sobriety since Fighting Irish. He's come so far and it's only a matter of time before he finds his true love.
Or is it?
What if he's already found her, he's just waiting for fate to return her to him?

Halcyon is going through a divorce and is left with very little. She finds herself back at Colby Cottage, right next to Summerhaven.
Is fate playing matchmaker?
Can ten years apart destroy a first love?
Can ten years apart bring two people back together?

Loving Irish is easy to do when Irish is your first love.

It's great to see the Havens and the O'Leary's again. It's great seeing the triplet dynamic. It's great to see Ian find his happily ever after.

Review: Play Dirty

Play Dirty Play Dirty by J.A. Huss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You don't upend your whole life for a gamble like this and then suddenly pull out at the last second.
You fuck that bitch hard and come inside her before you finish.

Yep. That sums it up. Play Dirty is Jordan's story. Finally. After all the games and all the books and all the secrecy and quiet and questions. This. Is. Jordan's. Story.

It's everything you want it to be. It's everything you've been waiting for. There are players you didn't see coming. There are games in play that you didn't know existed. There is so much happening.

And all you're going to want is for Jordan to get his HEA. I mean, Bric, Quin, Smith, Ix, Law, and Finn all got their very own HEAs. A lot of those came at the hands of Jordan. So, you are pulling for this man to get everything he wants and needs and desires.

This is the perfect fourth book. This is the perfect story for Jordan. This is the one we've been waiting for.

Are you ready to play dirty?

Review: The Sun and the Moon

The Sun and the Moon The Sun and the Moon by Leslie McAdam
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ryan. Wow. Can he be my new book boyfriend? He's perfect. Literally, perfect. I can't think of a more perfectly attentive, beautiful, sweet, kind, alpha book boyfriend. This man is it.

And Amelia needs the kindness, the sweetness, the attentiveness of Ryan. He helps her be a better version of herself. A version she doesn't even realize exists.

This couple makes my heart happy. Ryan makes my heart happy. I cannot believe I didn't read this sooner.

Charley Ongel and Tor Thom are the fantastic narrators of The Sun and the Moon. They do a great job of giving these characters voices. They bring Amelia and Ryan to life. The dirty talk, the sweet talk, the every day boring talk, all made more special because these narrators rock!

Review: The Darkest Minds

The Darkest Minds The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can't see through my tears! RTC

I feel like I'm the last person to read this book. I've had my friends pushing it on me for years, but I'm stubborn and difficult and put it off for forever.

I bought the audio a week or two ago when it was on sale.

Best. Decision. Ever.

This book held my interest from page one. The narrator brought the characters to life. I haven't been this absorbed by a book in forever. This book is the reason I read young adult. The writing is smooth, the story intriguing, the characters well-developed.

I laughed, I cried--seriously, I sobbed--and I enjoyed every single minute of this audio. Every. Single. Minute.
I still don't have adequate words for this book. I want more, yet I'm terrified to continue. The ending of this story absolutely broke me. I'm broken. I'm sad and lost and I want to shake Ruby. I want more.

And I'm scared. I'm scared because I didn't expect to cry or to become so absorbed in this story. I didn't expect to feel so much.

The tears were real. I sobbed. Gross, tear-filled, snotty sobs. It happened.

Review: The Spiral Down

The Spiral Down The Spiral Down by Aly Martinez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Henry is a rockstar. He's openly gay and he's not afraid of going after what he wants.
He is, however, afraid to fly.

Evan is a pilot. He's, for all appearances, straight. He hasn't wanted anything more than a fling since he had his heart broken years ago. He's ready for more, but he doesn't realize it until he's hired to fly Henry.

These two are a force. The chemistry is off the charts. The relationship is fun. The struggles are real. They aren't jumping into things, but they aren't staying away from each other either.

They're sexy and sweet and complicated. They're more than they seem.

This is not my first MM. This is not my first Aly Martinez. I'm a fan of both. Aly brings these two men to life and gives them a love worth fighting for. They are worth the struggles and the love. They are perfect for each other and I thank Aly Martinez for giving us characters who feel real.

Review: Lord of Chaos

Lord of Chaos Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of those series that you think can't get better, but it always does. The story has a huge build up, the characters go through so much, the growth, the development, the story. So much comes together, so much is torn apart, so much happens.

And Robert Jordan knows how to build up a story line for more pages than you would ever think are reasonable, only to have it all come together in the end. And this book? This book has a solid 4 hours of action. At least it felt that way. The build up of what was coming lasted for roughly 37 hours (I use hours because I listened to this), but when the tension broke, when the drama unfolded, when it all went down? Every single minute was worth it. I haven't found another author who can make a world and drop me into it and have me feel like I just can't leave. I have to know what's going to happen. I need to know all the things.

And I already have Crown of Swords loaded on my Audible. It's ready to go. Because I have a feeling I haven't even touched the surface of what Rand Al'Thor can do. And I need to see how his love life turns out and what happens when the Wheel weaves and pulls and pushes the Dragon and Perrin and Mat.

OH, Perrin. I'm so glad he was in this book. SO FREAKING GLAD. His connection to the wolves is so intriguing.

Review: Even Money

Even Money Even Money by Alessandra Torre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a book I didn't want to put down. And that ending?!

Okay, so I'm not sure if you're ready for this. It's part romance, part suspense, part what in the hell is happening.
It's good.
It's intriguing.
It's dark and dirty and delicious.

Bell captures the attention of the top man in Vegas, Dario Capece. All it takes is one look and the sparks fly, the heat ignites, the explosions happen.

The book is intense.
It's a page turner.
It's a slow burn.
It's thrilling and tantalizing and teasing.

Dario wants Bell. He wants to protect her, keep her, own her. But that's not how Bell functions. She's a survivor, a fighter, a woman who doesn't need a man.

Bell changes things for Dario.
Dario changes things for Bell.

The ending is a cliffhanger that'll leave you impatient for the next book.
You want to know what happens.
You want to see how this plays out.
You want Bell and Dario to make it, despite the forces against them.
You want more.
"I can't love you and not fight for you."

Review: Life

Life Life by M. Piper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you want to see the sweeter side of Piper, this is it.

Owen and Millie met in high school. They are the all American couple with their two kids and their sweet little life.

Until tragedy strikes and everything is chaos.

Told in alternating present and past POVs, this is the story of Owen and Millie. This is what happens when you might lose it all. This is what happens when you aren't sure what is waiting for you. This is what happens when Life deals you a bad hand.

You're going to love the love between Millie and Owen. You're probably going to cry.

Review: Moto

Moto Moto by M. Never
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I saw MFM and I said, "let's do it."

And here I am, after that wicked ride, waiting for my heart to catch up to my head.
These boys, these Dane boys, took Kayla for the ride of her life.

Denying herself the beauty of Devlin Dane seemed to makes sense to Kayla Kincaid. She had a strict "no bikers" rule and Dev was a biker at heart, despite the medical degree.

But when Reece Dane comes tumbling into Kayla's life, she begins to rethink her only rule.

This isn't your conventional MFM. This is a bit out there, even for me, but it's hot and dirty and it may have led to a few tears. I didn't want the story to end.

I have a favorite Dane brother. You probably will too. But you don't want her to pick one over the other because you'll still love them for totally different reasons. And you'll want to see everything work for everyone involved.

Review: The Undercover Rock Star

The Undercover Rock Star The Undercover Rock Star by Jenna Galicki
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 Under Cover Stars

If you're looking for something hot and dirty, this is the story for you!

Cam and Brandon have a chance meeting at a resort. Both taking a break from their normal lives, the last thing they expected to find was a partner.

This is told in third person POV. The narration adds an extra bit of dirty because there's always something more real when someone is saying the dirty things in your ears versus when you read them with your eyes.

John Solo and Nick J. Russo are new-to-me narrators. I'm excited to see what else they have narrated as I enjoyed this book.
