Review: Your Secret's Safe with Me

Your Secret's Safe with Me Your Secret's Safe with Me by Phoenix Rayne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.25 Stars

I've never read or listened to a Phoenix Rayne book prior to picking up Your Secret's Safe with Me.

I had no idea what I was getting or what would happen. I don't think I even looked at the blurb. I'm a rebel like that.

And apparently, our main characters are all rebels in some way. Except maybe Dorian. He seems to be on the up and up.

Cambria didn't have the best childhood. She went through foster care and orphanages, but never had a place to call home.
Instead of a place, she found people. A crew she surrounded herself with, lived with, worked with.
Until it all went south and she wanted out.

Trying to do better for herself and her bestie, Hayes, Cambria realizes doing better really means doing things legally. But staying on the right side of the law may not be as easy as she thinks.

When Cambria meets Dorian, she knows just how to play him to keep his attention. This is where I break off and tell you how hot Dorian is--because he is--and how kind and considerate and how he gives, and gives, and gives.
He's amazing.

And Cambria doesn't deserve him.
But despite everything set against them, these two find themselves drawn to each other. They can't stay away, they can't resist, and they can't get enough. The relationship develops very quickly.
And this is where I start to struggle. But only because I don't get Dorian. I understand Cambria's insta-love, but Dorian's doesn't make as much sense. Read the book, you'll understand why I say this.

But the twists in this book and the ending have me wanting to grab book two. I wanna see how this all plays out. Because you're getting some seriously dirty sex in this first book, but you're also getting a bit of suspense.

And that will have you wanting more.

My biggest complaint: the focus on the clothes and food. Seriously, I love detail in books, but I found myself wanting to skip ahead to get to the real meat of the story. Pretty sure there's an unintentional pun there. Maybe.

*I listened to the audio of this and was pleased with how easily it was to slip right into the lives of these characters. Before I knew it I was setting out clothes for Hayes, standing up to those who opposed me, and gettin' it on with Dorian. Well done.

Review: Angels Fall

Angels Fall Angels Fall by J.A. Huss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So, yeah. Well, this is intense. Again. I don't know how else to describe it. Intense is the best word here.

Maddie and Tyler are totally fucked up, right? And you already know that, but you can't stop reading this story. You just can't. Because these two characters who are flawed in more ways than I can count are the ultimate push and pull, love and hate, friends and enemies kind of story.

Picking up where Sin With Me ends, we know Tyler did some crazy, fucked up shit. We know Maddie is pissed beyond reason at Tyler.
We know that both are in some crazy shit.

And it's there that I leave you with the 'what the fucks' and the 'holy shits' and the 'no that didn't just happen' because that's just the kind of book this is.

Another crazy, fucked up story about two people who are so star-crossed, yet perfect for each other.
Tyler finally--FINALLY--pulls his head out of his ass. Maddie stops fighting life. Things start to look like they're on the right path.

Then, BOOM. Like, literally because that's just he way JA Huss and Johnathan McClain write. Just when you think it's all sunshine and rainbows, it's not. Not even close.

But then again, did we really expect sunshine and rainbows? Maddie owes that Carlos guy. Tyler is all crazy. Why did I get comfy?

Do we even have to talk about the sex? Should I? I should, but I won't. It isn't the point of the book. I mean, it's fantastic and it's hot and there are some scenes that will just live with you long after you close the book, but that's not why Maddie and Tyler are worth reading. Granted, they have absolutely ZERO problems in the bedroom--or bathroom, car, alley, hotel, Hoover Dam--and that is always fun to read, so yeah, if you want that out of a book, this is good for that too. But it's also good for THE STORY.

Because Tyler and Maddie have some serious demons that need handled. And I think they're only getting started.

 EXCERPT

TYLER
Shit. I have so much I want to say and to ask her. I want to know what the hell is going on with this Carlos asshole exactly. I want to explain that I have been trying to stay away and that I’m only here now because I want to make sure she’s okay. Because I owe her. Because I love her. Because I loved her back when she was just a kid and Scotty’s little sister and now I’ve fallen in love with the woman she is.
But her bare ass in my hands, tongue in my mouth, and thighs wrapped around my waist convince me that I can table that shit for a later date.
I walk her back to the trunk of the car and slam her down on it. She throws her legs open and that’s when I notice two things:
One: Her devil costume has a little red devil tail hanging off the back of the panties and it’s dangling down on the trunk of the car between her open thighs. Which is adorable and hot as shit at the same time. And…
Two: The panties themselves have a zipper on the crotch.
And I’m done.
And then I’m undone.
Two zippers go down in quick succession.
I slide her to the edge of the trunk where my cock is waiting to receive her. The morning sunshine creates an incredibly different atmosphere than we had the last time we were back here together. It’s strange. The night we fucked back here we were secret, hidden, protected, glancing furtively to make sure no one saw us.
Now, today, we couldn’t be more exposed, but neither one of us seems to notice or care. And I realize suddenly that the last time we fucked in this very alley, it was also after some drama created by Unlucky Logan. The difference is last time, I kind of stepped in and saved Scarlett, and this time Maddie sure as shit saved herself. And thinking about that again pushes hot, boiling blood into my dick and I thrust myself inside her with the same kind of reckless force that she defended herself with.
“More,” she grunts out, tightening the grip of her calves around my hips and dragging me into her further.
The teeth of the zippers on both her panties and my jeans rub against the skin on my shaft as I pound in and out, and the scraping, lacerating feeling makes me harder, which causes me to want to fuck her just that much more fiercely. Because I deserve to be punished. I owe her that. I can take it.
I’ve taken worse.
And then I pull out without warning.
“The fuck are you going?” she asks.
I bend down and when I stand back up, I’m holding the pitchfork. I hand it to her.
“Here,” I say, pulling my t-shirt over my head. The look on her face lets me know that it’s one thing to see the scars in the darkened seclusion of a strip club, or the black of an alley at night, or even my place or hers after the sun has taken its rest. It’s an entirely other matter confronting them in the bright light of day.
I force the pitchfork into her hand as I slip my dick back inside her again.
“Use it,” I say.
“Fuck are you talking about?” she says.
“Press it into me. My chest. While I’m inside you,” I say as I begin pumping in and out again.
“I don’t—” she starts. But I know what’s right. What I want. What she needs.
“Just do it,” I wheeze, as I fuck her sweet pussy. I just want to pleasure her. I want to make her feel good.
And I want her to punish me.
Now.
“Do it,” I urge again.
Her eyes narrow and she gets (appropriately) a devilish grin. And then without another word, she rocks her hips back and forth with the thrusting of mine, while at the same time pressing the sharp prongs of the tool into the scarred flesh on my chest. I can feel it ripping and tearing, but I don’t feel pain. Not in a conventional sense. Not even when she drags the edges down to my waist. I just know that she needs to hurt me, and this seems like a good start.
I watch her forearm tense. I can see her trying to stop herself from just fucking impaling me right here, which is what she wants to do. And if she does, she does. But as long as she doesn’t, I’m going to keep sliding this big cock in and out of her until she comes.

Review: Stone

Stone Stone by Max Monroe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stop what you're doing and go buy Stone by Max Monroe right now! I'm completely serious. This is angsty and full of feels. You want this book. And it's only $0.99 so you don't have much to lose. It's worth every single penny, guys. I promise.

Buy Stone here: https://amzn.to/2uglrVU

5 Holy Fox Stars

If you want fluffy and fun, just turn back now. This is not fluffy, there isn't much humor. However, you will find angst and hate and lust and pain. You'll find confusion and hurt. You'll FEEL when you read this book.

And you won't be able to put it down.

I sat down to read it and never stopped.

Max Monroe just gave me an enemies-to-enemies story that I was never expecting.

Levi Fox is dark, broody, mysterious, closed-off, and ALL ALPHA.
Ivy Stone is sassy, strong, smart, and ALL WOMAN.

These two should have sparks flying. Visible sparks. Instead you see flames. The burning flames of hate and lust and desire and confusion all twisted up between these two. It's palpable.

The FEELS aren't ending with these two. And just when you think it's all coming together, you receive another giant curve ball.

I can't wait to see what happens with Levi and Ivy in this series. I am impatiently waiting for Cold to hit my kindle. Honestly, if it wants to release early, I won't complain. And I doubt anyone else would either

#WhoRunTheWorld

I am honored to participate in the #WhoRunTheWorld blog tour. International Women's Day was March 8th and what better way to celebrate women than with the strong heroines of our favorite stories.

You know you have one. The one woman who you relate to or wish you were as strong as. Whether that woman is fictional or real, March is a great month to honor that woman--or women.

My favorite fictional heroine is brought to you by this fantastic tribute to women and the women who organized this tour. Read ahead to meet my favorite heroine. Hopefully you will love her too. Keep going for a giveaway.

Amalie Whitfield was first introduced in Shacking Up by Helena Hunting. She is the best friend to Ruby and commonly referred to as Anarchy Amie.
Swearing she's a changed woman, she turned in her Anarchy hat and has donned the hat of the well respected fiance of Armstrong.

But what happens when a man causes you to lose sight of who you really are. Not just the wild, crazy, fun woman, but the real you?

And this is why I love Amalie. Not because a man makes her feel like less, but because she is trying to fit into a mold for others and when she breaks that mold, she blossoms. She becomes the woman Ruby knows exists. She becomes the woman that caught Lexington Mills' eye long before he actually gets to call her his.

Reasons I LOVE Anarchy Amie:
1. She hacks "apart her dress with a pair of gardening shears."
Because after catching your husband with another woman--at your wedding reception--what else would you do?

2. Her bag of tricks. Or as Lex calls it, "the Extreme Pleasure Line"
When going on a honeymoon alone, how else do you plan to enjoy yourself? Easy. A bag of....tricks. I already loved Amie, but this scene just proved she was a strong woman, comfortable with her sexuality.

3. Amalie is loyal. In some cases, this is to a fault. In other cases, like her bestie, Ruby, it is a quality trait. One that secures their bond and ensures their bestie love for one another.

4. She's nervous during the landing and the takeoff when flying. I totally relate to this, which is why I like this little tidbit about Amie. It makes her more human, more real, in my eyes.

5. Years of self-defense. I cock my fist and punch him square in the nuts, bringing him to his knees. "Why?" he gasps.
"Because you're a pussy, and a cheater, and you tried to threaten me with force.

6. She's smart. Oh, so freaking smart. She's quite the powerhouse and that is so beautiful.

7. She loves hard. Let's be honest, her Hottie Hook-Up wasn't supposed to be a thing. Not a real thing. It was supposed to relieve some tension, be a bit of fun, make her forget. It was never supposed to be her happily ever after.
But when you fall in love, you fall hard. And Anarchy Amie fell hard for Sexy Lexy.

"I don't want to hurt you, Amie, I want to love you."

Review: Hot Single Dad

Hot Single Dad Hot Single Dad by Claire Kingsley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yep. Three books inside of five days. I did that. I would have had them finished sooner, but I don't get paid to read so I had to actually go to work. Gross.

Anyway, Caleb. Yeah, there's something about a hot, single dad that has women dropping their panties and throwing themselves (vagina first) at them. I get it. There's just something sexy about a man who cares for and spends time with his child. There's just something about a man who puts his little girl--or guy--first in his life. Silly, but that's how it is. Don't mind me, I'll be over here, grabbing a new pair of panties.

Linnea. Man, I had to ask how to pronounce that name, but after figuring it out, I have to say it's one of the most beautiful names I've stumbled upon. And she's just so amazing. Kind, caring, giving, nurturing, sweet, beautiful. She's just all the things and so much more. It's no wonder Caleb and his darling daughter, Charlotte, fall for her. She's the missing key to this duo.

But, as with any story, real or fiction, there are complications. Things that make this relationship more difficult than it should ever have to be. What things, you ask? Well, there's the age gap, the fact Linnea is Charlotte's nanny, oh and one other teeny, tiny thing that I'll force you to find out on your own. But the odds are against them, as they are with many couples.

This is one couple you don't want to miss. And if you make it this far, I think you'll want to subscribe to Claire Kingsley's newsletter so you can read her short story about a certain cool kid and her bestie.

The following is a spoiler for book 2, so read at your own risk

Review: Cocky Roommate

Cocky Roommate Cocky Roommate by Claire Kingsley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There's nothing like finding a hot, sexy, broody alpha asshole.

It's one of those things that happens often. Cocky, arrogant, and broody all rolled into one neat little (well, not little) package. Add in a phobia for relationships, money, and the ability to push people away and you've got yourself the perfect Alpha Asshole.

Meet Weston.

He's that perfect culmination of all the things you want in your Book Boyfriend. And he is the last thing Kendra expected when her brother, Caleb, said he had a colleague who needed a place to stay for a while.

I couldn't put this book down. I mean, I had to, but only because I have a job and that job does not allow me to sit around with a book in my hand. So, Weston and Kendra are, like, the perfect match. Weston is all super asshole, but you know there's more to him. You're given glimpses into why he behaves the way he does. And Kendra. Well, you met Kendra in Book Boyfriend. She was smart and sassy and just so giving and caring. It's no surprise she is the perfect roommate.

I know I said you could find those asshole traits in any book boyfriend, but they won't look quite as good on anyone else. Weston wears that arrogant asshole card with such style that I couldn't resist him. You won't be able to resist him either.

And just know he does the big gesture. If you did read Book Boyfriend and you managed to meet Alex and Mia, just know that Weston's grand gesture is better than Alex's grand gesture. And that says so, so much.

I've already downloaded the next book. This series is that good.

Review: Love 'em or Leave 'em

Love 'em or Leave 'em Love 'em or Leave 'em by Angie Stanton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Another new author for me to meet. Another feel good story for the year.

This story is one of those sweet, feel good stories that will leave you with a smile. It may be a touch predictable, but that doesn't take away from the characters. I mean, most romance is predictable to an extent, so that's not really a surprise.

Ashley is not a fan of cameras, but somehow finds herself smack dab in the middle of a reality tv show. Think The Bachelor, but with a different name.

Luke is a star quarterback who lost a bet so he is now the star of the new reality tv show, Love 'em or Leave 'em. He's supposed to find his true love while filming a show. Riiiiiight.

The show does not end the way you think. It's one of those unique twists that leave you asking yourself "well, WHAT NOW?" because you just know he's in love with one of these women *ahem* Ashley *ahem*.

Find out the fate of our stars, Ashley and Luke, in this cute story about an unlikely pairing and an unfortunately timed tantrum.

*I listened to the audio of this. It is the first time I've heard this narrator and I believe she did a fine job of voicing the different characters and bringing the story to life.

Review: Baby Daddy

Baby Daddy Baby Daddy by Kendall Ryan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Kendall Ryan knows how to do the sexy and the sweet. She knows how to put them both into a story and make it explode.

Emmett and Jenna meet in an elevator. She's on her way to the sperm bank. He's not on his way to the sperm bank. When he learns of her crazy plan to get knocked up in a sterile room, he kindly steps in and offers his services.

Yes, he offers to have sex with her so she can get pregnant. There's no way this will go differently than planned.

This is one of those fun, feel good books. I'm clearly on a fun, feel good kick lately because this is what I've been reading. I'm enjoying it. Kendall Ryan knows what she's doing in this genre and I can't wait to read this next book she writes!

*Oh, I listened to this audio. Sebastian York and Virginia Rose nail this narration.

Review: Book Boyfriend

Book Boyfriend Book Boyfriend by Claire Kingsley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm mad at myself. I'm mad because I have NEVER read a Claire Kingsley book before now. Why haven't I read a Claire Kingsley book prior to this one?! Why didn't anyone tell me!

Anyway, Alex is a writer. He's stuck in a book rut and can't seem to get his story off the ground.
Kendra, Alex's sister, is an editor. She's been staring at her brother's sci-fi story for years. She suggests he move in a different direction with his writing. As hesitant as he is to do so, he takes her advice and makes some changes.

Mia is clumsy, sweet, and a voracious reader.

What better story line than two people who meet in a bookstore?! Where the sexy man BUYS HER BOOKS?!

I can't say enough about this book. This is one of those feel good, sweet-as-pie, dirty dirty sex kind of books. It's fun and light and, did I mention, dirty?!

There has to be some drama, which I will not reveal here because it's just too good to spoil, and the characters have some things to work through. But OMG. Just get this freaking book and read it. You can swoon over Alex and Mia just like I did.

And after you read this book, go ahead and have Cocky Roommate lined up because you're going to want Kendra's story.

Review: Craft

Craft Craft by Adriana Locke
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another book of perfection from Adriana Locke! I absolutely LOVE Lance Gibson!!

Lance is a womanizer, using an app to find hook-ups and staying relationship free. He likes the single life. The life of one night stands and not being attached to anyone is where it's at.

Mariah is the sweet librarian. She bakes, she reads, she crushes on Lance (because who wouldn't?). She's a relationship girl. She wants it all: the marriage, the house, the kids. Loyalty, honesty, and love.

Did I mention these two work together? Lance teaches history and Mariah is the librarian. They are absolutely adorable. The banter, the flirting, the cuteness that comes out when they're near each other. Just *swoon*.

I wanted these two to work it out from the very beginning. I wanted everything good to happen to Lance and Mariah. Both such sweet people who deserve happiness.

And OMG. The sex. Yes, can't avoid that. That first time is always memorable, but holy moly mother of god. I knew it'd be hot, but Lance brings his A game from the start. You gotta read it to experience it.

So, do that. Buy it. Read it in KU. Grab a paperback. Just get your grabby hands on it (legally, of course) and enjoy. Because those Gibson boys will hook you. And the love they have will keep you.

Review: Hard Game

Hard Game Hard Game by Harper Lauren
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is my first Harper Lauren book and it was super cute. I say cute because I knew where it was going when it started. That's not to say there isn't anything good in this book. The banter, the fun, the sexy times between Ivan and Cassie are great. I've just read this plot before. That's all.

But Harper Lauren gives us two people who are trying to find their footing after having the rugged ripped out from under them.

Cassie is used to getting her way. She's used to spending money that isn't hers. She's used to the city. So, when her high profile dad sends her to his hometown to learn about money and work ethic, she's at a total loss. She's twenty-five and completely cut-off from her finances. Instead of being homeless, she goes to live with her aunt at her dad's "suggestion".

Ivan is home because of an injury. He's staying with him mother to help around the house and to help with the bills. But when an opportunity is practically thrown in his lap, how could he refuse?

He can't. Obviously.

Grab Hard Game by Harper Lauren to find out what happens with Cassie and Ivan. I'm excited to see who the next book will be about because this one gave me zero clue!

Review: Ready Player One

Ready Player One Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Why did I wait so long to read this?

I have a love/hate relationship with high profile books. The books that generate a ton of hype rarely live up to it so I waited.

And waited.

And waited.

And then Hollywood decided this book needed to be a movie, which was the kick in the ass I needed to read it. Because I can't have Hollywood out-doing me with the books.

If you ever wanted to visit the 80s, but you weren't sure how you only need to pick up this book. But don't let that fool you. There is so much more than 80s throwback happening here.

The time is 2045. The real world exists, but there's a better place you can go for an escape. OASIS, if you will. It's virtual reality at its finest. No, really, it's virtual reality. You can go online to attend class, you can play video games online, you can make friends, hang out in chat rooms, posses weapons, cars, and magical item. It's the coolest place ever. I'd like to visit the OASIS.

But all of this virtual reality comes at a price. It comes at the cost of human connection and relationships and life. It allows people to ignore the real world and get lost in the virtual world.

So, aside from the 80s nostalgia, it has an underlying message, and underlying theme.

Or, maybe I just read to far into it and it's just an 80s pop culture treasure chest.

Either way, it's a pretty good audio book. Wil Wheaton narrates. He's amusing. So, give it a read or a listen. Shouldn't matter the method, the book is fun regardless.

Review: Crank

Crank Crank by Adriana Locke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh, Walker Gibson. Just, swoon.

I needed an Adriana Locke fix before Craft released. I satisfied that fix with Crank.

Sienna Landry is the last Landry to find love. And she does it with Walker Gibson. He's the sexy, broody, small-town mechanic who does everything he can to fight his attraction to Sienna.

He gives it a good shot.

It doesn't work.

Their chemistry is crazy. The electrical current zipping between these two palpable. And this is true from their very first encounter. And it only grows.

I love everything in this book. Peck and Lance and Machlan. Walker. Nana. Sienna. The small cameos of Graham and Camilla. And even Linc. It's just a perfect mix of fun, sweet, sexy, and dirty. Because oh, it's dirty.

And I have a feeling these Gibson boys are only going to get dirtier as their stories progress.

On to Craft. I have a desire to get to know the sexy nerd.

Review: Fire On The Farm

Fire On The Farm Fire On The Farm by Betty Shreffler
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

It's a book funk, I tell you, a book funk!

Okay, so I read this book in its entirety. I did this because I just cannot leave a book unfinished. Plus, I just can't review a book I didn't finish.

So, here we are.

This book just isn't for me. The characters didn't work for me and the story, which had so much potential, just didn't come together for me. I'm not sure why. Like I said, the potential was there.

I almost quit. But I pushed through. The last 10% of this book was the most exciting, in my opinion. If the whole book had been like this, I would have enjoyed it much more.

But you may like the story, so don't let my review steer you away. Sometimes what works for one doesn't work for others. That may be the case here.

Review: Five

Five Five by J.A. Huss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I did a quick listen of this fantastic book over the weekend while on a road trip with my SIL.

It was the perfect way to pass the time in the car. I mean, who better to spend your afternoon with than Five Motherfucking Aston?

No one (unless it's Spencer Shrike, but that's not the point here).

And Five's love for Rory is the sweetest love, it's the purest love, it's the love that surpasses time.

I think I enjoyed this book more on audio. There's just something about hearing these characters come to life that makes it a bit more magical, a bit more real, a bit more exciting.

Because JA Huss writes exciting. She writes beautiful, flawed characters.

If you want to get started, this can be read before the Misters or after the Misters, but it MUST be read after the Rook & Ronin series (all 13 books, if you want to do it right so you can recognize all the names in this book).

Review: One Last Time

One Last Time One Last Time by Corinne Michaels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's Corrine Michaels so I knew when I picked it up that I'd be in tears at some point.

She did not disappoint.

Everything this lady does is magical.

One Last Time is one of the best books I've read this year. Showing how a divorce isn't the end of the world, that there are better things out there, and that you can survive being a single mother is all so very empowering. It shows that you do deserve more.

And that's the case with Kristin. Moving on from a relationship that died years ago, she finds herself with a job she didn't expect to have.

Noah Frazier is the guy. The it guy. And he finds himself smitten with Kristin. He finds himself agreeing to being the subject of her celebrity gossip blog.

It's on from there.

And you're going to love every minute of the ride. Even when you cry, you'll love it because it's Corinne and she does no wrong.

I'm not saying this was a bad book. The book was okay. Based on the reviews, this works for a lot of people, it just didn't do it for me.

Lena is a 30-something woman who is terrified of commitment.
Amos is a 30-something man who has crushed on Lena for years.

They shared a kiss two years ago. After which, Lena ran. And then played an amazing game of avoidance.
For. Two. Years.

When they are thrown into a work situation where they must work together, they realize those feelings that swirled around them two years ago when they shared a kiss still existed.

But how do you go from not speaking to friends? How do you push past friends and into relationships?

Easy, you take a really really long time.

This is where I got bored. I thought that something fun was about to happen around the 20% mark. But then I was led into a sea of disappointment. And then I had to sit through more of the book just for our main characters to get their heads out of their asses.

I'll admit I'm in a book funk. Or maybe it's that the other books I've been enjoying are these massive, epic books that cover all range of emotion. I'm not sure. But this book was not for me. Don't let that deter you, you may love it. That's the beauty of books.

Review: Surge

Surge Surge by M. Piper
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Read the cowboy books they said. It'll be a good time they said.

Yeah fucking right.

Listen, I'm all for a sexy cowboy. I'm all for a sexy cowboy in his sexy hat with his sexy muscles and his bad ass attitude. I like 'em like that. I like my alpha males all alpha-y and take charge.

And that is sooooo Bo.

Last we saw Bo he was leaving for the PBR. This is five years after that. He's back and he's sexier than ever.

You're gonna want to prepare yourself. He swoops in, takes charge, and does everything he can to prove he wants this life.

But why is he back? Well, that's something you'll just have to find out on your own. Who is his love interest? You were given all the clues in Addict, but if you don't know I won't be tellin' ya. And why is Bo even more perfect than Brandt? Just read to the end. That'll tell you everything you need to know about the kind of man Bo really is.

And if you aren't satisfied with these two cowboys, Piper Frost has one more sexy man to throw at us. Bring it, ladies. I've got all day.

Review: Outlander

Outlander Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sassenach.

"There was another reason. The main one."
"Reason?" I said stupidly.
"Why I married you."
"Which was?"
"Because I wanted you. More than I ever wanted anything in my life."

And that sums up why I fell in love with Jamie Fraser of Lallybroch.

I am a sucker for a time traveling book. I am a sucker for history. I am a sucker for an accent.
This book has it all. And a hot Scot to boot.

But really, I think this was--is--beautifully written. I felt like I was in the Scottish Highlands, I felt like I knew the halls of Castle Leoch. I felt as if I had traveled the countryside by horseback. I felt as if I belonged there, in 1743, with the Clans of the Highlands.

I listened to this story. Davina Porter is amazing. I loved her as Claire, Jamie, and all the rest. But really, I loved her voice. There's power in that voice. Just as there is power in the characters of Outlander. She brings them to life in a way reading the words on a page cannot.

Sassenach. My how I wish I had a Jamie of my own.

Review: Remember Me When

Remember Me When Remember Me When by Brooke Blaine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you were upset by the end of Forget Me Not, then you won't be disappointed in Remember Me When.

Brooke Blaine captured my heart from the very beginning. Showing me how our sweet Ollie had been crushing on Reid, even when he didn't know his name, then showing me how they become more than just strangers to one another, then to have their story overcome so much.

This is the perfect ending to that imperfect story. Ollie and Reid aren't perfect, they aren't sure how to navigate this crazy world, and they aren't sure how to put themselves back together when fate seems determined to rip them apart--even though fate put them together.

Can Ollie and Reid overcome those odds? Can they live their happily ever after?

Review: Only You

Only You Only You by Melanie Harlow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, hold my feels for a minute. This book is just the sweetest, most fun, friends-to-lovers ever!
One kiss just to see what it was like.

I love a good friends-to-lovers romance and I got just what I wanted out of Only You by Melanie Harlow.
One kiss to satisfy the craving.

Nate is the sexy man next door. He's the white knight when Emme needs one. He's the ultimate playboy, content to never settle.
"Hell yes, you should go."

Emme is the girl next door. She's the hot mess that's in constant need of saving from the craziest of things. She's the relationship girl.
"But I want you to stay."

But what would happen if that playboy's game was interrupted by something so unexpected that he became the one who needed saving?
"Tell me what to do."

What would happen if Emme and Nate shared a kiss so explosive they could have never prepared themselves for what would happen next?
"Come here."

Fireworks. Sparks. Desire. Lust. Feelings.
One kiss. And then we would stop.

Trust. Friendship. Heartache. Lies.
Needless to say, that's not how it went down.
